Colin Hugh Abbott & his "nearly world famous" gumnut birdfeeders circa 2000.

Colin at Kings Park Perth. I did well that day, selling my "nearly world famous" gumnut birdfeeders. They went all over the world.
I enjoyed myself that day ... as you can see from the photo. Hilary and Kate were there. I heard someone walk by and say, "How can he claim that they're nearly world famous!" Oh well ...

Me and Colin Thomas at airport, circa 1961. Northern Ireland.

I much preferred airports when the term "take off" referred to something other than your boots and belt! Colin Thomas had been my best friend in Llandudno, and he'd been over to Belfast to stay with us for a short holiday. We would both have been about 22-years-old. Colin Thomas played table tennis for Wales (full international) when he was only about 16-years-old. Like me, he went to John Bright Grammar School, Llandudno. He's a good bloke. Now, was this airport called Aldergrove? I'm not sure ... I'm afraid my memory is failing me. Hope it's not Alzheimers!

Colin Hugh Abbott, Glenavon, Northern Ireland, circa 1965.

Colin Hugh Abbott going for goal at Mournview Park, Lurgan. Colin is the only one-legged footballer ever to have scored on this ground.

Colin was much in demand for one-legged arse-kicking contests - he won prizes!
